Straighten Your Smile Discreetly With Invisalign

A smile is very important for first impressions. Did you know "people who smile are often seen as trustworthy, approachable, and willing to engage in friendly conversation," according to Psychology Today? Yes, that's right, a smile is key for first impressions, and having a straight smile plays into that. At Crown Ridge Dental and Orthodontics, Dr. Christian Pham of San Antonio, TX, provides his patients with a discreet way of improving their teeth called Invisalign.

About Invisalign

Invisalign is a tooth-straightening procedure consisting of transparent trays worn over teeth to nudge them into the right position. The trays are part of a series of trays that are swapped out every two weeks. Each tray should be worn about 22 hours a day to ensure teeth are progressing as required for the duration of the 9-15 month restoration.

Advantages of Invisalign

  • They're discreet, which makes them perfect for adults or older teens who want to avoid a mouth full of metal. You don't need to take them out before an important event, like a wedding or a job interview
  • Invisalign clear aligners are also removable, so you can remove them when you need to eat or brush your teeth making them convenient
  • Aligners are also used like retainers or a mouthguard while sleeping if you suffer from issues like bruxism and teeth grinding
  • People don't need to worry about metal irritating soft tissue, cheeks, and gums

Who Can Use Invisalign?

Your San Antonio, TX, dentist provides this service for people who have slightly crowded, mishappen, and/or gapped teeth. Severe issues will likely require traditional braces.
