The system we use here is the DIOnavi system. We can perform a single implant or a full arch, allowing a patient with a denture to have implants placed. This can involve four, six, or more implants if needed. The traditional method of implant placement involves making an incision on the gum where the tooth or teeth are missing, peeling back the gum to expose the bone, and then drilling, often by eye. The dentist will drill a little, take an X-ray to check the position, drill a little more, take another X-ray, and repeat this process.
What Is The DIOnavi Implant System?
The DIOnavi system combines the latest technology and techniques to make the implant procedure as predictable as possible while prioritizing patient comfort. Firstly, the entire treatment is planned digitally beforehand by Dr. Pham, allowing him to determine the perfect location and depth to place an implant. Then, the surgery is performed under computer guidance without any incisions.
Once the patient’s mouth is ready, they can then have their new crown, bridge, or denture placed on top of their implant/s, even at the same appointment as their surgery in some cases.
How does digitally guided surgery differ from traditional methods for dental implants?
With digital guided surgery, everything is planned digitally, including the angulation and placement of the implants, while considering the anatomy, such as the presence of nerves or sinuses. This planning results in a surgical guide, allowing the implant to be placed through a small hole without needing to peel back the gum.
